On 1 July at 9.45am, David Ruffley will be visiting County Upper School at the invitation of school teacher Mrs Middleditch to talk to Sixth Formers about political and local issues for a 'Question Time'.

David Ruffley said:

'I always enjoy visiting County Upper School and to listen to students. I think it is vitally important that young people be aware of politics and how it affects their lives whether they vote or not!'

gjhfgjhhDavid Ruffley MP will be attending an inspection of the Bury St Edmunds Sea Cadets on the 30th June at 7.00pm in Bury St Edmunds.

On the 30th June, David Ruffley MP will join with the Mayor to inspect the Bury St Edmunds Sea Cadets at their annual inspection.

Mr Ruffley said:

'The Sea Cadets movement has an invaluable job in providing a positive, structured environment in which young people from the ages of 12 to 18 can become skilled at new things, experience new challenges and establish long lasting friendships. The willing contribution made by its many volunteers is worthy of praise and I am proud to be a part of this inspection.'

On Friday 1 July David Ruffley MP will be joining Councillor Patrick Chung and a group of local volunteers at 12.30pm at Hardwick Shopping in a community litter pick.

Mr Ruffley said:

'This is a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved in an event which helps our community to stay clean and safe. I am a firm believer in the Big Society and if we can all chip in and do our bit then the entire community can enjoy the benefits. I will also do my bit to keep Bury St Edmunds one of the most beautiful towns in England.'

gjhfgjhhDavid Ruffley MP will be attending the 25th Anniversary event of 'Bury in Bloom' on the 30th June at 6pm in Bury St Edmunds.

On the 30th June David Ruffley MP will be joining in the celebrations to mark the 25th Anniversary of 'Bury in Bloom'; a community campaign that has enabled Bury St Edmunds to become one of the country's foremost floral towns.

On Sunday 10 July, David Ruffley will be joining the civic dignitaries of Bury St Edmunds for the Mayor's Civic Service at the Parish Church of St Mary at 11am.

Mr Ruffley said:

'I am a strong supporter of Mayoralty in our Shire counties. Tradition is an important social glue that keeps us together, whether we realise it or not. I look forward to taking part in the procession from Pakenham village hall to the Parish Church of St Mary. I always enjoy events like this as there is always a great community atmosphere.'

On Friday 24 June David Ruffley MP will be joining crime stoppers in Bury St Edmunds at the Business Crime Seminar at the Athenaeum.

David Ruffley, former Shadow Police Minister will be giving a keynote speech in the morning session.

Mr Ruffley said: 'Crime and its prevention is something I feel extremely strongly about. Having been the Shadow Police Minister under David Cameron in Opposition I have a knowledge of policing and an understanding of how crime can impact on the everyday lives of law abiding citizens.
