David Ruffley MP has written to the Prime Minister, along with other backbenchers, demanding an 'opt out' of 130 measures under the EU's crime and policing plan. His letter is published in The Daily Telegraph (Monday 6 February). This repatriation of police powers includes the European Arrest Warrant and the requirement for DNA and Fingerprints to be shared with European police, and justice laws will continue apply beyond December 2014.

David Ruffley MP has written to the Prime Minister, along with other backbench MPs, to change onshore wind policy on 30 January 2012.

David Ruffley MP said: 'We want ministers to cut subsidies and distribute the savings to other types of renewable energy. We also want changes to the draft National Planning Policy Framework which currently makes it virtually impossible for local people to defeat unwanted on-shore wind farm applications.

The draft NPPF rules contain a presumption in favour of wind farm developers who wish to build on green farm sites.

David Ruffley MP said: 'The Rural Fair Share Campaign brings together Members of Parliament and community groups who are concerned about the state of our rural communities, in order to work towards a fairer funding settlement.

Currently, urban areas have more investment per capital (on average £400 more) than predominantly rural areas. In these difficult economic times it is essential we move to a fairer allocation of limited public spending.'

David Ruffley MP welcomes the changes to VAT alteration proposals, announced last week.

David Ruffley MP said: 'I led a group of concerned MPs to meet David Gauke, the Minister responsible for VAT, at a meeting in the Treasury on Monday 23 April.

I am delighted that the Treasury has succumbed to our pressure and will now relieve listed churches' VAT on alterations.

As a result, churches will now be able to recoup VAT from the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme (LPWGS) which has been increased by £30 million per year.

The Free Enterprise Group of Conservative MPs has called on the Government to prepare for Greece's exit from the Euro by making urgent plans to restore the UK economy to growth.

MPs George Eustice, David Ruffley, Elizabeth Truss, and Kwasi Kwarteng, in Plan E, preparing for Euro Exit, have revealed their plan for responding to the Eurozone crisis. They call on the Government to:

1. Reaffirm the deficit reduction programme;

2. Capture greater capital flows by issuing infrastructure bonds to bring to the UK any capital that is fleeing the troubled Eurozone;
