SPEEDING tickets earn the Government £250,000 each day, shock figures revealed last night.

Critics said Labour was "milking the motorist" despite doing little to improve road safety. In 2007 the Government raked in a staggering £88million in fines. This compared to just £28.5million, a decade earlier.

The figures were obtained by David Ruffley , the Tory police reform spokesman.
