Mr Ruffley has been working with the Stowmarket Town Centre Partnership in order to gain Town Team Partner status for Stowmarket. David said:

“The Minister of State for Housing and Local Government, Mark Prisk, confirmed to me on 23 October that Stowmarket’s bid to become a Town Team Partner, which I lobbied Ministers for, was successful.

Stowmarket will receive a £10,000 grant from the Government to create a ‘Town Team’ to promote and refresh the town’s high street.

It is likely that the new ‘Town Team’ will concentrate on increasing footfall and maintaining the picturesque Stowmarket town centre so that shoppers and tourists can enjoy its charms. 

I am pleased for Stowmarket – this grant will help raise the profile of its high street and local businesses.”
