David Ruffley MP to Attend 16 Air Assault Brigade Service of Remembrance

David Ruffley MP will attend a Service of Remembrance for the 16 Air Assault Brigade on 8 June at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. The 16 Air Assault Brigade is the largest unit in the British Army, elements of which are based at Wattisham in Mr Ruffley's constituency.

Mr Ruffley said: 'I am deeply honoured to be able to join with others in paying my respects to the brave servicemen and women of 16 Air Assault who have lost their lives fighting for our country. The Brigade has served with distinction in Sierra Leone, Macedonia, Afghanistan and Iraq including places such as Basra, the Maysan Province and Helmand where British forces have faced some of the toughest times of their recent history. I pay tribute to all of the servicemen and women who defend the freedoms and way of life which we value in this country, and their families who hope and pray for their safe return.'
