David Ruffley MP has called a meeting with Chief Constable Simon Ash and Police Authority Chairman Colin Spence at Suffolk Police Headquarters.
David Ruffley said 'As the Shadow Police Minister from 2007-2010 I believe that I have a forensic understanding of how the police service operates.
I am very concerned that the Government is not doing enough to cut bureaucracy on hard working police officers - I spoke on this topic on 9th February 2011 in the House of Commons: http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=7546 .
I want to hear from the Chief Constable whether he is cutting the back office at the Suffolk HQ and so protecting the number of frontline officers in Suffolk Constabulary. I am also interested in his views on money saving ideas such as sharing services with Norfolk Constabulary.'
