David Ruffley MP has called for the Chief Executive, Keith Brown, of Visit East Anglia to the House of Commons to explain their recent “Curious County” advertising campaign. Constituents of Bury St Edmunds have complained to Mr Ruffley that Suffolk - the “curious” county in question - should have an advertisement which reflects the unspoilt natural beauty of the East Anglian coastline, the picturesque villages and their history and as a centre of the arts. Mr Ruffley believes that “Curious County” fails on all of these fronts and brands Suffolk as a strange rather than beautiful place. Mr Ruffley says this is unacceptable.
