David Ruffley MP has been asked to attend the League of Mercy ceremony at Mansion House in London on 1 June on the occasion of the investiture of Distinguished Volunteers with the badge of the Order of Mercy.
Mr Ruffley said: 'The League of Mercy is an esteemed and venerable Victorian order which recognises the hard work and dedication who serve their community. I am delighted to be able to attend this particular ceremony as Mrs Pamela Bailey of Bury St Edmunds in my constituency is to receive an Order of Mercy award. It is great that her work with the St Nicholas Hospice has been honoured in this way. She is an inspiration to us all.'
