David Ruffley MP to hold planning meeting with "green buffers" on Bury St Edmunds

Thursday, 22 December, 2011

David Ruffley MP will be discussing planning and meeting representatives from the National Trust and Suffolk Preservation Society alongside Green Councillor Mark Ereira at Ickworth House, Horringer, on Thursday 22 December.

David Ruffley said:- 'I am exceptionally proud to represent one of the most beautiful and historic areas of the country and it is my intention to preserve the landscape for future generations.

We need 'green buffers'- areas of land between the town and the surrounding villages so that each can preserve their distinctive characters.

That is why I am so pleased to be liaising with key groups in Suffolk to plan a large public meeting to discuss development.

I will also be discussing my concerns about the National Planning Policy Framework and the Localism Bill which I- and other concerned parliamentarians- believe is a lawyers' and a developers' charter.

I look forward to discussing with representatives of the National Trust and the Suffolk Preservation Society the best way to protect our beautiful part of Suffolk.'
