Today David Ruffley MP met with the Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey, Lee Bishop and the Managing Director of Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, Bryn Maidman to discuss Taylor Wimpey’s plans for more housing developments in Suffolk.
The meeting took place at Taylor Wimpey’s request after Mr Ruffley vocally raised his concerns about the over-development of his Bury St Edmunds constituency.
David Ruffley commented:
“Yes, we do need more housing units to ensure that there are enough homes for people in Bury St Edmunds. But I continue to be worried that a new development, unless we are careful, could see many villages merge with Bury St Edmunds. These villages would then lose their distinctive local identities.
I will be meeting with local councillors early in 2013 to further discuss the implementation of Taylor Wimpey’s proposed housing developments. “
