David Ruffley MP secures first Big Society Ministerial visit to Suffolk

On 30 June David Ruffley will be welcoming the Minister for Civil Society, Nicholas Hurd MP to Bury St Edmunds on his first 'Big Society' visit to Suffolk.

The Minister will be attending the launch of the new Open Road rehabilitation centre in Bury St Edmunds at 12.30pm, followed by speaking at a Big Society conference at the Apex conference centre, chaired by David Ruffley MP, starting at 12.55pm until 3.00pm.

Mr Ruffley said:

'It is a first for Suffolk that the Minister has accepted my invitation to come to Bury St Edmunds to talk to chief executives of all the main Suffolk volunteer organisations at The Apex on 30 June. It will be a great opportunity for Suffolk to be informed on what the Big Society is all about. I will chair a Question and Answer Conference on how Government plans will affect Suffolk. I want to find out what the Minister can do to help the Third Sector in Suffolk. '
