In personal support of David Ruffley MP, who was his Chief Adviser at the Treasury (1993-1996), the Rt. Hon Kenneth Clarke will be speaking at a large, mainly business, dinner on 17th March.
David Ruffley who invited Mr Clarke to the dinner said: 'I am not surprised that there has been such a great response to the visit by Kenneth Clarke. After all, he was the Chancellor who gave the last Labour Government a golden economic legacy and he was the last Chancellor to pull the economy out of recession and on to a sustainable path.
I am very much looking forward to hearing Ken's view on Britain's economic outlook and also his thoughts on the future of Law and Order and sentencing which is his remit as the Secretary of State for Justice in the Cabinet.'
