Local hero Joan Fry has been presented with a certificate at a tea party at the House of Commons.
David Ruffley, MP for Bury St Edmunds, and Stowmarket, chose Joan, from Woolpit, as his local hero.
A volunteer with Mid Suffolk Axis for nearly 20 years, Mrs Fry has also been an active volunteer and fund-raiser for people with disabilities for more than 40 years.
Mr Ruffley said: "Joan Fry is a shining example to us all. At the age of 85 she is still an active volunteer. She is twice as active as some people half her age.
"I am delighted to present Joan with her award at Westminster and hear about her voluntary work for Mid Suffolk Axis. I thank her for all she is doing for disabled people in the community."
