David Ruffley MP will attend the Gala Opening Celebration at the Regal Theatre in Stowmarket on Thursday, 4 March at 7.30 p.m.

The Regal was forced to close last September after a fire destroyed part of the building. It has now been refurbished and re-opens this week.

David said:

'I congratulate everyone involved in getting the Regal re-opened in under six months. It is a great achievement. I would also like to pay tribute to the firefighters who saved the building from complete destruction.

'The Regal has a special place in the history of Stowmarket- as well as in my own childhood memories. When my family lived in Needham Market in the sixties, I remember going to see films there!

'Thanks to Stowmarket Town Council, who took back the management of the venue in 2008, audiences have been increasing. I hope everyone will continue to support it.'
