David Ruffley MP will be attending the reopening of Rattlesden Village Shop on Saturday 17 June 2006.

Rattlesden Village Shop is a community store staffed entirely by volunteers and has recently been refurbished.

The reopening will be performed by K-9, Doctor Who's popular sometime side-kick from the BBC Television series.

David Ruffley will be available to meet with local residents while at Rattlesden Village Shop on Saturday.

David said:

'Rattlesden Village Shop provides a fantastic, and valuable, service to the local community.

'The shop is staffed entirely by hard working volunteers who give up their spare time to work there. It is stores like this that are the cornerstone of village life and we should all do our utmost to support them.

'While at the store I also hope to have the opportunity to meet with local residents and listen to their concerns.'
