Ruffley to be quizzed on Radio West Suffolk

Monday, 2 February, 2009

David Ruffley is visiting Radio West Suffolk at their studio in West Suffolk Hospital on Friday, 6 February.

Radio West Suffolk is a volunteer-run radio station which broadcasts to patients at West Suffolk Hospital as well as locally on 1350AM and worldwide on the internet.

David will record an interview with Julie MacLeod, station manager, roving reporter and one of their regular presenters. The interview will be broadcast during Julie's 'What's Going On?' programme on Wednesday 11 February at 6.00pm.

During his visit, David will also meet Grant Greetham, Chairman of Radio West Suffolk.

Last November David supported Radio West Suffolk's bid to turn the radio station into Bury St Edmunds first community radio station.

David said: 'I look forward to being quizzed on my views on local issues, including West Suffolk Hospital and how people in Suffolk are beating the recession.

'I am delighted to support Radio West Suffolk in their bid to become a community radio station. Their team of 40 volunteers currently deliver over 50 hours of live programming each week- this outstanding level of commitment shows that the station is well placed to make a bid for a wider audience.

'Radio West Suffolk already does a fantastic job making patients' hospital stays that bit more bearable. I would be delighted to see the station grow and become a strong voice for everyone in Bury St Edmunds.'
