Ruffley Calls for More Information on Rural Broadband Discrimination

Tuesday, 25 February, 2003

David Ruffley MP is continuing his ongoing fight to get greater access to broadband for his constituents. Having regularly highlighted this concerning issue with Government ministers, sadly Suffolk is still far behind the national average in terms of getting broadband access.

David said, 'I have written to the East of England Development Agency to ask for a map of my constituency which shows the town and villages that are not able to get broadband access. I have, again, written to Mr Stephen Timms MP, the Minister of State who is responsible for broadband to ask him about trials that are underway to encourage remote access broadband.

'I will continue to highlight the rural discrimination that is holding back so many businesses and individuals from accessing broadband."
