David Ruffley MP has called senior officials from National Air Traffic Services (NATS) to a meeting at the House of Commons on Tuesday 1 July at 4.30 pm.
David Ruffley and Tim Yeo MP will meet Jane Johnston, Head of External Communications, and Jonathan Astill, Head of Airspace and Network Management.
The proposal by NATS to shift the Stansted Eastern Hold from Sudbury to villages to the south and west of Stowmarket will affect rural villages in both David's Bury St Edmunds constituency and Tim Yeo's South Suffolk constituency.
David said: 'I will be reiterating my strong opposition to the positioning of this hold over some of the most tranquil villages in my constituency.
'I submitted my written response to the NATS consultation and attended the London demonstration to add my support to the campaign by the Save Our Silence Action Group (SOSAG) but I also want the opportunity to question these senior NATS officials about the possibility of holding aircraft over the North Sea.
'I have said all along that dumping noise pollution on my constituents is unacceptable and that NATS should go back to the drawing board and think again.'
