Ruffley calls public meeting on Cedars Park Community Centre: 'We must have faster progress'

Thursday, 11 November, 2010

David Ruffley MP has called a public meeting which he will chair at 7.30pm on Friday 12 November. It will be held at Cedars Park Community Primary School, Pintail Road, Cedars Park, Stowmarket, IP14 5FP.

Concern expressed by Cedars Park Residents Association about delays in providing a community centre at Cedars Park prompted David Ruffley to call the meeting.

Representatives of Mid Suffolk District Council, Crest Nicholson, the developers, and Suffolk County Council will attend.

Progress towards providing a community centre and other facilities at Cedars Park has been made but progress is very slow.

David said:

'I was told 12 months ago by Tim Passmore, Leader of Mid Suffolk District Council, that they would be announcing a start date for building work by the end of last year. That announcement has still not been made. Planning permission hasn't even been granted!

My Cedars Park constituents have no community facilities- and they are badly needed. We must have faster progress towards providing them.

At Friday's meeting I will be putting pressure on all the parties involved to get a move on. My constituents deserve these facilities and I want them built soon.'
