David Ruffley MP has today congratulated Needham Market FC on their spectacular FA Carlsberg Vase run.

David was at today's semi-final second leg match against Kirkham & Wesham in which Needham Market were attempting to overcome a 3- 2 deficit from the first leg.

Needham Market fought valiantly and ended up losing the second leg 1- 0 to go out of the competition 4- 2 on aggregate.

David said:

'Needham Market FC put in a truly gutsy performance today. I was delighted to be present to watch this FA Carlsberg Vase match and every member of the team can quite rightly be proud of their display.

'Needham fought valiantly to overturn the 3- 2 deficit from the first leg, however, it was not to be. This defeat should not take the shine of what has been a truly spectacular cup run- to reach the semi-final of such a respected event is no small achievement.

'I would like to personally congratulate every member of the team and backroom staff for making me, and everyone else in our part of Suffolk, proud to say we follow Needham Market FC.'
