David Ruffley MP will be giving 'starters orders' at the Christian Aid Fun Run on the field next to Christ Church, Moreton Hall on Saturday 9 May between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
Participants are encouraged to get sponsored for as many laps as they think they can do, up to a maximum of 10, and in so doing raise money to help people in some of the world's poorest countries.
David said:
'I am delighted to be giving 'starters orders' at the Christian Aid Fun Run organised by Christ Church, Moreton Hall. I know Rev Jonathan Ford well and I am always deeply impressed by the level of community engagement his Church achieves on Moreton Hall and with the wider community.
'I am sure that there will be an excellent turnout for the Fun Run and I look forward to meeting with the participants, some of whom will be in fancy dress.
'The Fun Run aims to raise money to help the world's poorest countries- this is incredibly worthwhile cause and I would urge as many people as possible to participate. The Fun Run is followed by a barbecue at which participants eat for free.'
