Ruffley invited to participate in Charity Golf Day to raise funds for St Nicholas' Hospice

Friday, 16 September, 2005

David Ruffley has been invited by Robert Beckett, Chairman of the Beckett Investment Management Group, one of the town's largest employers, to join his team to play in the Charity Golf Day on Friday, 16 September to raise funds for St Nicholas' Hospice. The charity match is being held at the Bury St Edmunds Golf Club.

David said: 'I am a keen golfer and a full member of Bury St Edmunds Golf Club so was delighted to be asked to join Bob Beckett's team for this charity golf match. Although I do not manage to play as much as I would like, I find golf a relaxing break from politics! So to be able to have a round of golf and raise money for our excellent local St Nicholas' Hospice was an opportunity not to be missed.

St Nicholas' Hospice does excellent work for my constituents. I have always admired the hard work and commitment of all who work there. I am always delighted to do what I can to support them in this work.'
