Ruffley launches cutting edge new website

Thursday, 18 January, 2007

David Ruffley MP has today launched his new cutting edge website. has a clean, modern design and user friendly layout.

David is the first Suffolk Member of Parliament to provide, on a single parliamentary website, a daily blog, podcasts and David's own TV channel where visitors can watch videos of him discussing a number of key issues.

Visitors will still find all the usual content they have come to expect from a visit to David's site including regularly updated local and national news stories, press releases and David's opinions on 'hot' issues.

David said:

'I have always tried to ensure that my website is as up to date and accessible as possible. However, today I really do think we are breaking new ground with a website that is accessible and highly interactive.

'Some MPs have blogs, a few others have podcasts but in each instance these are spread around over a number of websites and are not immediately accessible to the average visitor.

'Now at, for what I believe is the first time for a Suffolk MP, I am offering all the usual content alongside a daily blog, audio podcasts and videos on a single parliamentary website.

'I am launching the new website with three videos I have recorded on environmental issues, trade in Bury St Edmunds and the Accident and Emergency Department at the West Suffolk Hospital.

'I will be writing my blog every morning and visitors will have the opportunity to comment and give their feedback.

'The videos, which will initially be updated two to three times a month, are hosted courtesy of YouTube in what I am sure will become an exciting partnership.

'This is all about accessibility and accountability- there is massive scope for feedback and people are able to download my comments on topical issues and listen to them on the bus or train via their iPods.

'This is an exciting day for me as a Suffolk MP. I look forward to hearing what Suffolk visitors make of the new website.'
