David Ruffley MP has this week launched an online survey to investigate concerns over the quality of the bus service in his constituency.
David has recently invited the Managing Director of First Buses, Alan Pilbeam, to the House of Commons to try to find a solution to the concerns of residents on the Howard Estate in Bury St Edmunds who have no bus service to their nearest supermarket or GP surgery.
David said:
'Climate change is now, quite rightly, at the very top of the political agenda. However, if we really are to get people out of their cars and onto public transport, the service provided needs to be reliable, cost effective and most importantly, follow the routes that local people want.
'Therefore, ahead of my meeting with the Managing Director of First Buses, Alan Pilbeam, I have launched an online survey to get more details of the needs of people living in our part of Suffolk.
'I will be completely frank with Alan about the concerns of local people and will not shy away from telling him where they want to see improvements.
'Anyone wishing to take part and let me know their views.'
