David Ruffley MP has this week launched an online survey on the state of roads in his constituency.

Both Mid Suffolk District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council are currently progressing their Local Development Frameworks, which will eventually determine where new houses in the area will be built. David is keen that before the consultation process ends, he has a full picture of the state of traffic infrastructure in the area.

David said:

'Our local councils are currently trying to determine where new housing in our part of Suffolk should be sited. I am determined that where new house building takes place it must deliver the required infrastructure to ensure that further pressure is not placed on roads or junctions that are already close to capacity.

'With these concerns in mind I have launched an online survey which considers the general state of our areas roads and tries to establish when and where severe problems occur.

'The Local Development Frameworks will shape our area until 2031, they provide a unique opportunity ensure that the infrastructure upgrades we need in our part of Suffolk are delivered alongside our housing needs. This survey will help me ensure that if there are any oversights in the consultation documents put out by our local councils, I am able to identify them during the consultation process and ask that they are remedied.'
