David Ruffley MP will meet church leaders from all denominations at Christ Church, Moreton Hall on Friday, 13 November. The meeting has been organised by Churches Together in Bury St Edmunds.
David keeps in regular contact with church leaders and their congregations throughout his constituency through meetings, correspondence and attending church services.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for church leaders to raise with David questions about the role of Christian faith in national life, Britain's role in defence and foreign affairs, moral and ethic issues, as well as local issues that impact on the role of the Church locally.
Issues to be raised at Friday's meeting include policy on Afghanistan, the EU Equal Treatment Directive and how it will affect Christians, parking at West Suffolk Hospital and tax policy relating to churches.
David said:
'I value my dialogue with church leaders on a wide range of issues, not only on religious, moral and ethical issues but also local issues. They have their finger on the pulse of their parish and alert me to issues of concern among their congregation or the wider local community.
I look forward to a lively exchange of views on matters ranging from the war in Afghanistan to the controversy over parking at our local hospital.'
