Ruffley Meets Mid Suffolk District Councillors

Tuesday, 4 February, 2003

David Ruffley will meet Mid Suffolk District Councillors on Friday, 7 February to discuss local council issues.

One of the items to be raised will be the proposed increase in council tax by Suffolk County Council which will significantly raise the amount paid by residents in the Mid Suffolk area.

David said: 'Although the Labour Government discriminates against shire counties such as Suffolk in favour of urban areas when it comes to government funding, the increase would not be so large if Suffolk County Council ran its services more efficiently. It is appalling that residents in band D properties will now face a council tax bill of over £1,000.'
