David Ruffley MP will be joining Archie Robertson, Chief Executive of the Highways Agency, to officially open the A14 Rookery Crossroads on Friday 3 March 2006.

A small exhibition will be staged at the site offices and Archie Robertson will make a short speech on the scheme and future developments on the A14.

David will be available for media interviews before being driven with the other guests to the site where the relocated milestone will be unveiled.

David Ruffley has campaigned for improved safety measures on the A14 and all of Suffolk's roads since his election in 1997.

David said:

'I am delighted that the vital Rookery Crossroads scheme is nearing completion. This is important not only for road safety in the area but also for future business development. I have been campaigning for these much needed improvements for a number of years.

'I look forward to welcoming Archie Robertson, Chief Executive of the Highways Agency, for the official opening of the Rookery Crossroads and listening to what he has to say on future improvements to Suffolk's major trunk road.'
