David Ruffley MP laid a wreath during the Remembrance Day service at the war memorial on Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds on Sunday, 8 November.
David said:
'It is important that we continue to acknowledge the debt we owe to our Armed Forces- both past and present. These brave men and women put themselves in harm's way on behalf of us all.
'While commemorating those who served in the two World Wars and more recent conflicts, we must also reflect on our service men and women currently fighting battles in Afghanistan, especially the role played by members of the Armed Forces stationed on Suffolk soil.
'Every year fewer and fewer people are alive who served in the Second World War, and this year we lost the remaining few veterans of the Great War, but we must never let their memory fade.'
