On Friday 28 March, Bury St Edmunds Conservatives unanimously readopted sitting MP David Ruffley to stand as the Conservative candidate at the next General Election.

Chairman of Bury St Edmunds Conservatives, Eric Flack, said: 'David is a conscientious Member of Parliament. He works hard for all his constituents, regardless of their political persuasion. As a Member of the Treasury Select Committee, he challenges Gordon Brown on his mis-management of the economy.

'I am confident that, at the next General Election, the people of Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Needham Market will choose to continue to be well-served by their Member of Parliament, David Ruffley, and return him with an even greater majority.'

David Ruffley said: 'Representing Bury St Edmunds is the most rewarding job I have ever done, or will ever do. I am delighted to be chosen once again to stand at the next election.'
