David Ruffley MP recycled his Christmas Cards at W H Smith in Bury St Edmunds on Friday 18 January.

David recycled his cards in support of the Woodland Trust, who this year aim to recycle in excess of 100 million cards.

David said:

'Every January I make sure I support the Woodland Trust by recycling my Christmas Cards here in Suffolk. This year I recycled my cards a

W H Smith in Bury St Edmunds. I was delighted to hear from staff at the store that they have already been inundated with cards this year. Anyone wishing to recycle their cards can still do so until 31 January.

'Judging by the response W H Smith in Bury St Edmunds are having, the Woodland Trust are on course to hit their target of recycling 100 million cards and I hope that my contribution helps them to do just that.

'For every tonne of paper the Woodlands Trust recycles 17 trees are saved- this is a fantastic achievement and I would encourage all Suffolk residents to recycle their cards at their local W H Smith, Tesco, T K Max or Marks & Spencer in support of the Woodlands Trust.

'Tackling environmental issues responsibly is one of the biggest challenges facing our nation and the world. I hope that all of us in Suffolk do our bit in 2008 to ensure generations to come enjoy a cleaner, greener future.'
