David Ruffley MP has signed an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons calling for greater help to the nation's carers.
David said, 'There are over 7 million carers in Britain today and these hard working people make up 13% of all people working full time.
'As a patron of the local Alzheimer's Society, for instance, I know of so much caring that is done by men and women of all ages.
'I support the aims of Carer's week which will be taking place from 9-15 June this year. I would like to offer my thanks and praise to all the hard working carers in my constituency today. Many people give up all their valuable time to support and help other people, these people need greater recognition and support for their invaluable work.'
