David Ruffley MP will be taking part in a sponsored walk from Icklingham to Bury St Edmunds on Saturday 13 May in aid of the Theatre Royal.
As part of the Theatre Royal's £5.1 million restoration appeal, board members Derek Blake and Simon Spence have been taking part in a 388 mile sponsored walk.
David Ruffley will be joining approximately 200 other supporters for the final leg of the walk setting out from the Plough Public House in Icklingham at 10.30 am on 13 May.
David Ruffley is a patron of the Theatre Royal and has been an active supporter of the theatre since his election in 1997.
David said:
'I am pleased to give my time to such a valuable cause. I have long been a supporter of the Theatre Royal and its fund raising efforts.
'The Theatre Royal is one of the only remaining Georgian theatres in the country and its restoration is of the utmost importance, not only to the town, but also to our country's theatrical heritage.
'I look forward to joining other supporters of our town's marvellous theatre in the last leg of this sponsored walk and would like to congratulate everyone involved on the part they have played.'
