Ruffley vents anger over banks on behalf of the public.

David Ruffley MP questioned Barclays Chief Executive, Bob Diamond, in the Treasury Select Committee on Tuesday 11 January.

In a heated exchange Mr Ruffley demanded that Bob Diamond lent more to British businesses to get the UK economy growing and creating jobs. He asked Mr Diamond to accept that banks should lend more because all banks- not just the partially state-owned Lloyds/HBOS and RBS- were implicitly supported by the British taxpayer since no Government has allowed runs on banks.
