David Ruffley MP will be visiting the ninth School Farm and Country Fair as the guest of the President of Suffolk Agricultural Association, Michael Hollingsworth, on Thursday 23 April.
The main objective of the School Farm and Country Fair is to enable seven to nine year old Suffolk school pupils to connect with how their food is produced.
David said:
'I am delighted to be able to attend the ninth School Farm and Country Fair as a guest of the Chairman of Suffolk Agricultural Association. It is of the utmost importance that we support local produced and our fantastic local farmers- this fair aims to enable 3,500 seven to nine year-old Suffolk school pupils to connect with how their food is produced.
'There will be over 60 interactive exhibits and demonstrations and over 150 farmers from our county will be acting as stewards.
'This event will help school children across Suffolk to better understand how and where their food is produced. It will, at an early age, help them see just how important the role of farmers and agriculture is to our county.'
