Continuing his series of visits to local businesses, David Ruffley MP will be visiting 2 Sisters Food Group at their Haughley Park site on Friday, 25 September to see how local business fares in recession. This follows David's recent visits to Baker Construction in Bury St Edmunds and Barrastone Computing in Stowmarket.

David was invited to visit 2 Sisters Food Group by Mos Kalbassi, Managing Director of Prepared Foods, who is keen to explain their plans for expanding the processing facilities at Haughley Park and their energy and water saving initiatives. Their plan is to develop a low carbon footprint facility at Haughley Park.

David will be given a tour of the site and meet many of the staff.

The 2 Sisters Food Group site at Haughley Park is part of an international food company founded in 1993 by their Chief Executive, Ranjit Singh. The company employs over 500 people full time at the Haughley Park site and it represents about 10% of the Group's turnover. The site is a coated/breaded and deli/roast processing facility. It also has a butchery and fresh meal production facility. They are predominantly a private label manufacturer but also produce Buxted and Devonshire Red ranges.

David said: 'I look forward to hearing about 2 Sisters Food Group's plans for expanding their processing facilities at Haughley Park. It's great to see local businesses doing well during the recession- it's a great advertisement for investing in Suffolk.

'I'll be interested to hear about their energy and water saving initiatives and their plan to develop a low carbon footprint facility at Haughley Park. I will be discussing where and how they might be able to access potential funding for this project and how I may be able to assist them.'
