Ruffley welcomes new Norton mobile Post Office

David Ruffley MP has welcomed the opening of the new Norton mobile Post Office which is now operating from the car park of Norton Village Hall, Ixworth Road, Norton, IP31 3LE from 14.30-16.30 Monday to Friday each week.

The new mobile service has been set up to replace the old Norton Post Office which closed last September. It provides the same range of services as the former Norton Post Office. The new service is operated by Sally Reeves.

David said: 'I am delighted the new Norton mobile Post Office is now open and has restored Post Office services to the village after an eight month gap.

'I have no doubt that Sally Reeves, who is operating this new mobile Post Office, will provide an excellent service for my Norton constituents.

'I have campaigned hard throughout my constituency to keep Post Offices open and where this has not been possible, I have done my best to ensure that mobile Post Office services are in a suitable location and suit the needs of the local community.

'For eight months the residents of Norton have had the inconvenience of travelling elsewhere to access Post Office services, so it is excellent news that the same range of services are again available in Norton, albeit for greatly restricted hours.

'If the limited hours at Norton prove to be insufficient, I will be only too pleased to lobby Post Office Ltd at the highest level to provide longer operating hours.'
