David Ruffley MP has today given his backing to the 'Rickinghall Fix 2006' project.
The Rickinghall Village Hall and Playing Field project was selected from over 1,000 applications to compete, via public vote, for an award of £50,000. The short listed projects will be showcased on ITV regional news this week.
The 'Rickinghall Fix 2006' project aims to update the current outdoor facilities in the local playing field, by providing a meeting place for teenagers, replacing swings, providing an accessible public toilet and replacing the existing sports surface.
The Rickinghall project will be featured on Anglia News on this Thursday, 3 November between 6 and 6.30pm. The result of the public vote will be announced on the evening of 4 November.
David said:
'I congratulate all those who worked hard in helping Rickinghall Fix 2006 get on the shortlist for this award.
'The improvements they hope to fund will make a real difference to local residents and provide them with much needed facilities.
'This is an excellent community and a fantastic project, I give it my wholehearted support and wish them every success in the public vote this week.'
