Ruffley Gets New Assurance That St Olaves Post Office Will Stay Open

David Ruffley today released a letter that he has received from the Post Office. David Ruffley said: “The Post Office claim ‘there are no proposals to close this branch….any rumours you may have heard are completely unsubstantiated’.

David continued: “Whilst this means there are no existing plans to close St Olaves branch, the Post Office also say to me ‘It is true that we are looking at closing some of our post office branches over the next three years as we clearly have too many in certain areas’. This means that the residents of St Olaves must be vigilant over the next few years in case the Post Office suddenly put St Olaves on their hit list. Residents will fight any future closure and they will have the full support of me as their local MP.

The post office at St Olaves is a vital community resource and must not be allowed to close in the future.”
