Ruffley For More Youth Facilities: Officially Opens New Moreton Hall Youth Shelter

David Ruffley will perform the official opening of the new youth shelter at Moreton Hall on Friday, 5 November at midday. The youth shelter is by the football pitch next to the Moreton Hall Community Centre and Christ Church on Simmonds Road.

The youth shelter has been provided by St Edmundsbury Borough Council with Christ Church providing £1,000 out of the total cost of £3,000.

The opening will be attended by the Reverend Jonathan Ford of Christ Church, together with St Edmundsbury Borough Councillors and officers and representatives from the Suffolk Constabulary in Bury.

David said: “I am delighted that the youth shelter is now in place after a long local campaign which I was happy to support. The views of young people in the area were canvassed to find out what facility they would like to have in Moreton Hall. The idea of a youth shelter, which will provide a meeting point for young people in the area, was the most popular option.”
