| David Ruffley MP will be holding two meetings with Suffolk West PCT Chief Executive, Mike Stonard and Director of Service, Transformation and Development, Mark Crawley on Friday 28 October. |

| The first meeting is to discuss the prospect of a doctors’ surgery for the village of Thurston at which Mid Suffolk District Councillor Derrick Haley and County Councillor Sue Sida-Locket will also be in attendance. |

| David said: |

| “This is an important meeting to discuss the very real needs of my constituents in Thurston. I have been campaigning for a doctors’ surgery in the village for some time and will be pressing Suffolk West PCT to commit to a firm timeframe for its arrival. |
|
| “I hope that following these discussions I will have some positive news to pass on to the residents of Thurston. |
|
| Later in the day David will be meeting with Mike Stonard and Mark Crawley to discuss the spiralling debts at the PCT. Suffolk West PCT is one of the top three overspent trusts in the country despite being one of the smallest. |

| David said: |

| “The NHS in Suffolk is going through its worst crisis in recent memory. The deficit at Suffolk West PCT is staggering and our hard working doctors and nurses are not getting the resources they need to do their job. |
|
| “I will be asking some tough questions and demanding reassurances from the PCT that they are doing everything in their power to reduce the deficit and avoid further cutbacks.” |
