Superfast Surfing for Suffolk

David Ruffley MP is campaigning for superfast broadband in Suffolk, following expressions of huge concern from constituents. Along with fellow MPs he has written a letter to Dr Andy Wood, the Chairman of Choose Suffolk, in support of a bid for Government funds.

David Ruffley MP to hold with GP commissioning group on radical NHS shake-up

David Ruffley MP is holding a meeting with the Board of the West Suffolk Commissioning Federation on 11 February 2011. The WSCF is based in Bury St Edmunds and comprises all GP practices in West Suffolk. Under the Government's NHS reforms over the next three years the Federation will take over the budgets currently administered by the Suffolk Primary Care Trust.

David Ruffley, MP for Bury St Edmunds, was elected overwhelmingly by his fellow Conservative MPs in the House of Commons to serve on the Treasury Select Committee. In the election David beat off competition from MPs from Wolverhampton, Esher, and Lincoln for membership of the Committee. David's election by MPs was confirmed in a House of Commons vote tonight.

David Ruffley MP officially opened the new £470,000 midwifery-led birthing unit at West Suffolk Hospital on 10 December. Designed to provide a 'home-from-home' environment for women who want a natural birth, the unit has four individual rooms with en-suite rooms, and one with a birthing pool.

Ruffley Goes Back To School: A Question Time with Sixth Form Students; and a Meeting with the Head about Academy Status

David Ruffley MP will visit Stowmarket High School on Friday 4 February 2011. He will take questions from pupils, aged between 16 and 18, on the future of education. Mr Ruffley will also be meeting the Headteacher and Chair of Governors to discuss the Government's radical education reform, including new 'Academy' status.
