On Friday 11th March David Ruffley MP will be meeting up with small businesses (SMEs) in Bury.

At 10.45 am David Ruffley MP will be handing out awards and giving a speech to the Best of Bury St Edmunds' Business Coffee Morning at LP Bar and Kitchen in Bury St Edmunds.

Mr Ruffley says of small businesses 'It is a very tough business environment for small and medium sized enterprise and the Budget which is on 23rd March will be crucially important. I also want to hear if the big banks are improving lending to SME's. '

In personal support of David Ruffley MP, who was his Chief Adviser at the Treasury (1993-1996), the Rt. Hon Kenneth Clarke will be speaking at a large, mainly business, dinner on 17th March.

David Ruffley who invited Mr Clarke to the dinner said: 'I am not surprised that there has been such a great response to the visit by Kenneth Clarke. After all, he was the Chancellor who gave the last Labour Government a golden economic legacy and he was the last Chancellor to pull the economy out of recession and on to a sustainable path.

David Ruffley MP will meet the Artistic Director, Colin Blumenau of the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds to discuss future programming.

David Ruffley MP said of the meeting, 'I regularly attend the Theatre Royal and I thoroughly enjoyed the production of '1984' which I saw before Christmas.

I do, however, have concerns over the less than packed programme of popular productions. When over £5.2 million was recently raised to restore the Theatre, we need this to be a lively packed venue at the heart of our town.

David Ruffley MP to join Eye Airfield protest: 12 Noon Sunday 27th February 2011

David Ruffley MP will be joining protesters over plans to build a waste incinerator on Eye Airfield. The proposals, part of Suffolk County Council's Waste Core Strategy, would see the demolition of current buildings on the site and the construction of a waste facility including a Energy from Waste plant building, waste reception hall, turbine hall, air cool condensers, bottom ash recovery facility, electricity substation, offices and visitors centre and parking and landscaping.

David Ruffley MP to be presented to HRH the Prince of Wales at St Edmundsbury Cathedral

David Ruffley MP will welcome HRH the Prince of Wales to St Edmundsbury Cathedral on 4 March 2011. His visit to the Cathedral will celebrate two major projects undertaken in 2010: the completion of the vaulted ceiling and the refurbishment of the organ.
